Braces in East Harlem

Here at Central Park North Orthodontics, we understand that wearing braces might not be something you look forward to. But when you consider the consequences of not treating crooked or misaligned teeth, our braces in Harlem are clearly the better option. Teeth that are not straight give you a smile that might leave you feeling awkward to show. In addition, your occlusion, or bite, can be thrown out of its proper position and that can lead to discomfort or pain. Furthermore, crooked teeth are more difficult to floss between effectively, leaving you open to a greater chance of tooth decay and gum disease. These are just a few of the good reasons why you should consult with our orthodontist and find out about the choices we have to address the situation.

One of the most advanced methods available today for straightening teeth is Invisalign. Instead of being made out of metal, this type of our braces in East Harlem are made out of clear plastic. You’ll wear anywhere from 12 to as many as 48 separate aligners during the course of treatment, each for about two weeks, and all of them made right here at our office using 3-D computer technology. You can remove your aligner from your mouth to brush, floss, and eat. This gives you several advantages. For one, your oral hygiene is much more efficient. For another, you won’t have to limit yourself by excluding any types of foods from your diet, because there is no chance of it becoming entangled in your aligner. Invisalign is also comfortable to wear and won’t cause any mouth irritation. Perhaps best of all, however, the aligners are virtually invisible. You won’t have to feel self-conscious about wearing them. No one else has to know.

Our braces in Harlem also include those made from ceramic, which are similar in color to your teeth. Like Invisalign, they also blend in and won’t stand out. And, of course, metal braces have been around for a long time and with good reason. They work. And today’s versions are much more aesthetically appealing and less clunky than the ones of the past. It’s also true that for some difficult cases of teeth misalignment, metal braces may be the only choice strong enough to do the job.
